June, 2023 letter to residents regarding the Gebhardt Road reconstruction project
Updated plans for March 13, 2023 Ad Hoc Pathway meeting.
Referendum Update:
The Village has been informed that our Gebhardt Road and Pathway project has not been recommended for funding. There was $384,000,000 in funding requests made for the available $26,000,000 in funding. The SEWRPC recommendation for funding for the STP highway and transit grant is available here.
As this is only the recommendation to the final review committee, we will not know for sure this is the final decision until next week Monday’s meeting is completed but based on our ranking we do not anticipate any change.
Village Hall needs your input at the polls in November!
The Board of Trustees would like to maintain Village streets and develop the interconnected pathway system, because of this goal, Resolution 082922 was introduced to complete the reconstruction of Gebhardt Road from Pilgrim Parkway to Highland Drive while completing a pathway along the same stretch.
The decision made by the vote is below:
“Shall the Village of Elm Grove spend $1,700,000 on the reconstruction of Gebhardt Road including the construction of an off road pathway with the Village’s expected contribution to be $340,000 if Federal grant monies are awarded, or $1,300,000 expected Village contribution if Federal grant monies are not awarded?"
Please see the presentation below for further explanation and to answer some questions that may arise.
