Purpose
The project will increase the capacity of the sanitary sewer on Pilgrim Parkway in an effort to minimize the occurrence and severity of sewer backups. The Village of Elm Grove and the City of Brookfield will be completing this project jointly as the sewer is jointly owned by both communities. The project consists of the removal of the existing sanitary sewer directly west of Pilgrim Parkway and the installation of a new larger sanitary sewer. The boundaries of this project are from Pilgrim Park Middle School on the south to just north of Gebhardt Road to the north. By constructing this project over the winter months, Elm Grove and Brookfield will be able to avoid the closure of Pilgrim Parkway throughout the duration of the project.
Timeline and Traffic
Work on the project will begin on January 4, 2016. Gebhardt Road over the Dousman Ditch (just west of the intersection with Pilgrim Parkway) will be closed for up to six weeks. The road will reopen as soon as that section of the project has been completed. Pilgrim Parkway will remain open during the entire time of the project, however there may be occasional delays due to construction traffic.
The overall project is scheduled to be substantially completed by April 1, 2016.
The Village appreciates your patience and apologizes for any inconvenience.
