Building Board

Overview

The Building Board serves as an aesthetic review board regarding the exterior appearance and architecture of residential and commercial building projects. The Building Board is comprised of nine village residents, at least one of which is a Village Trustee. 

Most exterior alteration or construction work requires review by the Building Board. Projects that require review include exterior alterations, additions, accessory structures (sheds, pergolas, gazebos, etc.), pools, decks, retaining walls, business signage, sport courts, and new home construction.

Building Board review must occur prior to online submittal of permit applications. Any online permit submittal for work requiring Building Board review will be denied, referring the applicant to the Zoning & Planning Administrator.

Materials must be submitted 2-4 weeks in advance of a meeting (dependent on scope of project) to get on an agenda. Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Parkview Room.
