Project Updates
August 16, 2013
The contractor has completed the temporary pavement for Elm Grove Road and the road is now fully open to traffic. The road will be resurfaced next year after any repairs for settlement have been completed. The contractor will start roadside restoration on Monday, which will be done with the road under traffic. Please be alert and cautious when going through this area while they are working next week.
As of this afternoon the watermain will be full connected to the City of Brookfield system which means the fire hydrants will be live and available for use and it will now be possible to connect to the water system.

We have just been informed that Elm Grove Road will need to be closed starting tomorrow morning, July 30th , due to a leak detected during the watermain pressure test. This will require them to re-excavate portions of Elm Grove Road to determine the exact location of the leak. This will more than likely require the paving of the street to be moved from Thursday, August 1st. At this time we do not have a new schedule for that work but we will send out a news alert as soon as we have that information.

The watermain project is nearing completion. Elm Grove Road will be closed on Wednesday 7/31/13 to complete paving work. The road will remain closed until Friday 8/1/13. During the closure the detour route utilizing Sunnyslope Road will be posted and enforced. For those living in the affected area, access will be maintained to your property. However, there may be delays and short periods of time that access may be restricted.
If you are traveling on Wall Street, there may be delays due to construction traffic but the road will remain open during this time.

Elm Grove Road will be open beginning the evening of July 4th. Will remain open until repaving which will be in one to two weeks. Work will begin on Wall Street east of Underwood Creek beginning Friday July 5th. Work will begin near Bluemound Road starting week of July 8th.

We have received the updated schedule from the contractor. Again this schedule is based on their best estimate of timing and the Village will do its best to keep everyone updated on activities as they progress. For the next week, most of the work will be in preparation of the major construction and will be off pavement on the sides of the road. There will be some delays based on equipment and material deliveries but there should be no street closures during the next week.
Refer to the Elm Grove Road - Watermain webpage for project contact information, updated schedule and the final project drawings.

The Village has been informed by the contractor that due to issues with its subcontractor for traffic control, the start of the project will be delayed until possibly late the week of June 3rd or the start of the week of June 10th. This will obviously push the projected schedule back at least a week.
