Join our lecture series this month as we discuss Buckthorn: The problem, eradication and replacement.
Buckthorn was first introduced to the United States to create a wonderful dense privacy hedge between neighbors. However, birds and other animals have transported their seeds throughout the urban landscape and into our woodlands and wetlands, quickly displacing our native vegetation. We will discuss the negative impacts buckthorn has, how to effectively remove this pesky invasive, and which of our favorite native species to plant to provide screening, privacy, and food for pollinators and birds. Presented by Danielle Bell of Native Roots, LLC. Join us for the third program in the Elm Grove Beautification Committee Winter Lecture Series, with partner support from the Elm Grove Library. Free to attend. No registration required.
