The library is open.

The Elm Grove Public Library has re-opened as of June 24th. Phase 1 of the reopening plan takes into consideration user-related statistics and is guided by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s Division for Libraries and Technology and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Due to the nature and ongoing changes of the pandemic and available information, this plan is subject to change.  

Hours 

Monday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Tuesday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m .
Wednesday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Thursday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Friday: 10 am. - 4 p.m.

Reduced Capacity

Capacity will be limited to 11 people (in addition to staff) in the library at any one time. This number is based on the WI DPI’s occupancy calculator. Please limit your time in the library so others may also visit.

Phase 1 Services

  • Regular circulation and reference services will be available.
  • Browsing of all collections will be available.
  • Three public computers in the adult area will be available, first come, first serve.
  • The children’s play area and computers are closed. The study room will be unavailable.
  • In-person library programs are canceled through July, with the exception of one outdoor children’s program.
  • This year’s summer reading program is virtual through the Beanstack website.
  • Book donations will be accepted beginning Monday, July 6.
  • Curbside pickup is available upon request.
  • Drive-up book drops continue to be open as normal. Please Note: All returns quarantine for 72 hours before check in. Check-ins will be backdated.

Sanitation and Safety

  • Wearing of face coverings is highly encouraged.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the library.
  • Returned items will be quarantined for 72 hours before check-in.
  • Staff will regularly clean door handles, keyboards, countertops and other high-touch surfaces.  
  • Library materials will not be disinfected. Browse and use at your own risk.
