Police Incident: 11-30-2017 Multiple Hit and Run Crashes

A 22 year old Delavan woman is in custody this morning following a series of auto thefts, attempted auto thefts, and hit and run crashes.

At 7:08 AM this morning, our agency took a possible burglary complaint from a resident in the 14900 block of Lata Vista Dr. who heard a crash and car alarm going off. The caller believed there was a burglary in progress and exited her home as she called police. The suspect fled at a high rate of speed in a white F-150 pick-up truck when she was approached by the complainant.

Moments prior to our call, the same suspect was reported as behaving oddly at the Starbucks in Wauwatosa. After leaving Starbucks, she continued west on I-94, crashing around N. 121 Street and I-94. She then fled the crash on foot and at 6:58 AM stole a F-150 work truck from 12100 block Fairview, West Allis.

The suspect was located by officers traveling north on Highland Drive following a series of hit and run crashes in Elm Grove as well as attempting to run down pedestrians and vehicles while she yelled at them. Officers proceeded after the truck which crashed within moments into a tree on North Avenue at Highland Drive. The driver fled on foot and was apprehended by officers following a foot chase.

Charges will be referred to the Elm Grove Municipal Attorney’s Office and the Waukesha County DA’s Office for 2 counts of Reckless Endangerment, Operate Without Owners Consent, Resisting Arrest, multiple counts of Hit and Run to vehicles and property adjacent to highway, and Operating while Under the Influence.

We are not seeking any other suspects and the incident remains under investigation.
